Weston McKennie wipes his hands on photographer’s bib during USA’s World Cup clash with England as baffled employee gives him a smile

USA midfielder Weston McKennie left a photographer looking rather baffled as he wiped his hands on his bib during the match.

The Juventus star was preparing for a throw-in during the 38th minute of his country’s World Cup clash with England, but must have been struggling with grip on a wet matchball.

McKennie decided he needed some more grip

McKennie then dropped the ball, and turned to the hoardings for a towel, but ended up using a photographer’s bib.

The gentleman in question looked rather surprised, but soon gave McKennie a smile as he realised what was happening.

And at the same time, one of his colleagues looked on rather amused.

McKennie is far more used to playing in the centre of the park, having starred for Juve since his 2020 move.

However, he was deployed on the right side for the US’s clash with England, and was preferred over former Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest for a number of throw-ins.

England can become the first team to qualify for the knockout rounds of the Qatar World Cup with victory over the USA, who will move top with a win.
