Site Security Assistant (x 2 positions)
Pay: £11 per hour (+ benefits including annual leave entitlement)
Hours: 7am to 1pm / 1pm to 7pm (Monday to Friday)
Type: Permanent
Location: Cheadle Hulme, SK8 6RQ
Seashell is a charity dedicated to providing a creative, happy and secure environment for children and young people with complex needs and additional communication challenges from across the UK.
Our site is home to our school, college, 17 residential homes, swimming pool, gym, 3G sports pitch and our wider support service teams (with more developments to come!).
This is a new role to ensuring the site is always safe and secure, directing visitors and providing excellent customer service to any visitors and users of the site.

Role Summary

  • To ensure the security and safety of the site, students, staff and visitors
  • Welcoming visitors to site, providing information and dealing with enquiries
  • Undertaking regular patrols, perimeter, window and lighting checks
  • Resetting alarms as required
  • Monitoring the CCTV system to monitor use of the site
  • To help with routine health and safety checks on site (i.e. checking windows and doors are closed and lights turned off, checking road surfaces, checking gates are working correctly and are locked as required)
  • To be an ambassador for the wider Facilities Team

About The Role

Are you a professional and dedicated Security Manager with a passion for Keeping People Safe?

We are looking for an experienced individual to lead a team ensuring a positive and safe experience for customers and venue team members at various venues within the centre of Manchester. This engaging role is perfect for someone with great people skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage an effective security team.

The Security Manager will be responsible for overseeing the deployment and service delivery of the security team, monitoring venue targets, supporting the team reach their potential, and ensuring venue security plans are appropriate and adhered to.

FGH Security provides highly trained teams to some of the most premium venues across Manchester – should you require additional working hours we have a range of other opportunities.

Candidates must hold a valid Door Supervisor or Close Protection SIA licence.

Your main duties will include:

  • Maintaining a safe and positive experience for all guests during their time onsite
  • Be responsible for all security personnel, manage operations and working within security plans and venue expectations.
  • Support and advise on security plans, risk assessments and incident
  • Ensure correct incident, searching and patrol reporting from all members of the security
  • Carrying out briefs and debriefs, monitoring targets throughout shifts.
  • Support the team reach their full potential through their own experiences. Identifying training needs and implementing appropriate
  • Managing and communication timekeeping and productivity, feeding back to operations management.
  • Liaise with venue management on personnel positions and scheduling of your team
  • Ensure venue policies are being implemented by security personnel and adhered to
  • Attending regular meetings with Operations Managers with suitable updates and proactive management of any issues
  • Build and maintain good relationships with local authorities and emergency services.
