Job Description:

  • Read log book and allocate workmen to work area to perform daily jobs; monitor timeliness and quality of job completion
  • Follow SOPs for plant inspection, collecting water samples, submitting reports etc.
  • Undertake in-house analysis of air, water periodically to check if they meet environment safety parameters
  • Collect ground water samples / surface water samples / piezo well samples as per requirement and send it to the laboratory for testing; co-ordinate with the laboratory for test results
  • Assist approved third party laboratory during environmental monitoring to test stack, ambient air etc.
  • Monitor and record air emissions / ambient emissions / undertake work zone monitoring as per requirement
  • Prepare all required documents / reports / formats / letters for compliance of legal requirements as per Environment Protection Act and other statutory regulations as may be required
  • Draft all communications that needs to be undertaken with regulatory authorities (SPCB, MOEF & CC) and send the same for review to superior
  • Collect data from respective users on periodic basis under sustainability requirements (KPIs, SAQs, BRC); prepare and share reports with concerned teams / corporate for review and actioning
  • Maintain all records of monitoring and legal compliances in order to present it to auditors when required
  • Assist in the inspection audits conducted by the Pollution Control Board by accompanying them and providing data / inputs where required and responding to their queries
  • Engage with and educate departments to arrange for appropriate disposal of hazardous waste material as per defined norms
  • Co-ordinate with various departments to organize events such as world environment day, plantation drive etc. to spread awareness
  • Facilitate QC activities, conduct WCM small group meetings, motivate team to participate in such activities and undertake skill development of team members through OJT (on the job) training / classroom training
  • Co-ordinate with other departments, third party vendors and management to ensure smooth information flow to ensure that operations are carried out and any emergencies, challenges, issues are resolved without any losses being incurred
