As an Aircraft Cleaning Operative, you will be joining our team working on aircraft in between flights. Delivering high performance standards, you will be trained to specialise in aircraft cleaning processes, both interior and exterior. In addition, you will be trained to assist in other aircraft turnaround procedures such as baggage handling and de-icing according to our business needs.

You will be committed to delivering exceptional customer service and take pride in your work. You will be expected to adhere to our safe working practices and will have protecting the health, safety and security of yourself, colleagues and others at the forefront of everything you do.

 

Your key duties will be:

  • Providing a customer safe environment through the removal of waste in a timely and effective manner from aircraft seating areas, galleys, toilets and aisle emergency lighting
  • Fluid checks (refractometer readings)
  • Toilet and Water servicing
  • Cleaning of Aircraft Interiors (deep cleaning, turnaround cleaning and intermediate cleaning)
  • Loading and unloading of blankets pillows to/from aircraft
  • Make up of Aircraft kits
  • Any De-icing duties requested
  • Crew room, office and vehicle cleaning as requested
  • Utilise any new technology introduced to enhance the operation
  • Take care of, and report any damage to company property
  • Sign in and out any company property as requested
  • Assist Leads, Duty Managers & Management in ensuring the workplace is a safe environment to work
  • Airside Driving
  • Operate any GSE as requested Additional Duties that may be required
  • Using either BRS or manual bingo cards while working in BSA
  • Aircraft Turnaround (all associated duties)
  • Complete any necessary paperwork relating to the turnaround
  • Loading & unloading aircraft

Background

The COVID19 pandemic has driven a temporary downturn in the passenger aviation industry, but the industry is starting to bounce back. Here at Menzies Aviation in London Heathrow, we service airlines from all over the world 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As Heathrow is the UK’s main airport the flight schedule is growing rapidly which means we can recruit new Customer Service colleagues to join our fantastic Customer Services team. We are looking for people to join our team on a permanent part-time basis (18.75 hours a week), who are passionate about delivering a first-class customer experience. Overview

Deliver high-performance standards around all aspects of Customer Services and customer processing, meeting the requirements of our airlines and maintaining health and safety to the highest standard. Follow good working practices in accordance with company policies and procedures at all times.

Main accountabilities include:

  • Provide exceptional customer service as per the Menzies and Airline specific standards to ensure customer satisfaction at every step of their journey.
  • Always ensure Safety and Security are never compromised.
  • Check customers’ travel documentation together with relevant identification to ensure compliance with governing bodies.
  • Check customers into airline systems adhering to policies and procedures. Issuing boarding passes and bag tags with the correct AAA followed.
  • You will process customers using an automated DCS or manual system ensuring full compliance with regulatory, company and airline requirements.
  • Collect excess baggage and any other ancillary revenue the airline generates through airline systems, ensuring Menzies cash handling process for card payments is adhered to.
  • Board customers onto flights whilst complying with safety and security procedures.
  • Marshall customers onto and off aircraft in a safe, secure and efficient manner.
  • Follow procedures for passengers with regards to the acceptance of Dangerous Goods.
  • Ensure that check-in, bag drop and gates are open and closed on time to achieve on-time performance.
  • You will always promote a professional image. As part of the FOH team, you will ensure safe, on-time departures for all airline customers.
  • General lounge functions of welcoming guests and dealing with passengers’ queries/upgrades.
  • Be able to consistently deliver the highest possible customer service at all times.
